A Fine Classical Lyre/Swan Head Figured Mahogany Gilt Bronze Mounted Worktable (1810 - 1820)

Description: This continental worktable, which is probably French, is a compact tour de force of classical furniture. The lyres are beautifully sculptured with swan heads and embellished with gilt leafage. The mahogany is of the very best and vibrantly figured. The top opens with a mirror and sectioned compartments. This worktable is clearly one of the finest of the period and made for those that demanded only the best.
